So we’re in February and that means CARNIVAL!! Yes, in Italy we celebrate carnival in February, and is time where everyone gets in the spirit of things having fancy dress parties and parades in every town throughout the country. And in true Italian style the partying lasts all February!!
And of course, parties, celebration and gathering cannot be without food, right? More so in Italy! So I’ve prepared a recipe of one of Italy’s so loved sweets made only to celebrate carnival “Chiacchiere“.
As usual in Italy every region has its own little concoction of ingredients and secrets, but my Chiacchiere are a true representation of the South, specifically Calabria, where you can find them everywhere from the most humble café to the most glamorous restaurant. Everyone makes Chiacchiere at home too, is kind of almost the only sweet eaten throughout Carnival.
