SLIM PASTA REVIEW AND SKINNY ITALIAN PASTA RECIPE
The first time I bought this product was a few months ago whilst browsing around in Holland and Barrett. Although I never buy slimming products or things to make me lose weight, this “pasta type” of product did grab my attention.
Looking through the ingredients and more so through its nutritional info I was stunt to see it only had 9 calories per 100gr… WHAT???!! You got to be kidding me, then I saw it had 0 carbs…what the hell this can’t be!! So decided to try…
And surprisingly I wasn’t disappointed with the product. Of course this is not real pasta but a substitute, yet a very good substitute I must say.
The product comes in a small pouch filled with water and the pasta itself. Before use you just have to give it a quick wash and literally warm it through either in a pan or in the microwave.
The pasta itself is robust enough to stand any pasta sauce, whether is a simple tomato or Pesto Genovese to a more heavy sauce such as Bolognese or Carbonara.
The flavours is not bad at all if you’re not expecting to be the same of pasta. When you eat it, it feels together and solid, i.e. you feel you are eating something rather than dissolving in your mouth.
I love the fact that is gluten free and wheat free, No Carbs, low calorie, organic, fat free and sugar free, I mean this product is the miracle food!!
So what is this pasta made of
The miracle ingredient in this product is Konjac. Konjac is a root vegetable found in China similar to a Casava. Is white in colour and hard in texture.
The product is processed similar to how Casava is processed, is dried then put through a mill to create the flour. Once the flour is made water is added to create a dough and from this dough then the “pasta” is created.
How much does it cost
The product is not expensive but not cheap, I think is not something that you eat every day, however, is pretty affordable.
Holland and Barrett sells it at £2.59 per bag (200gr) CLICK HERE to go to their webite. At the time of writing this post they have an offer of buy 1 bag and get the second for a penny and as far as I know they are the only shop where you can get Slim Pasta.
To show how good this product is and how quick and easy is to make a quick meal, I’ve done a Skinny Italian Inspired Pasta using Slim Pasta.

So all in all I will definetly continue to buy this products, perhaps not on a weekly basis, but for when they have it on offer because I think is really good. If you’re on a low-calorie diet or need to have a gluten free diet and want more food options, then definitely this is a product to go to.
