I’m Morella the voice, cook, photographer and videographer behind Mi Terruño Food. My blog is all about sharing the flavours I grew up with in Venezuela and Italy with easy, vibrant and delicious recipes for everyday life…
I’m an Italian-Venezuelan living in the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove in the South East of England since I left Venezuela almost 20 years ago!
I have a passion for food, eating and cooking, I’m the proud mom of two very spoilt cats, Carolina and Jaimita (a.k.a Pripri) and wife of a very nerdi guy 🙂
My blog reflects my philosophy on food, EASY, FRESH, VIBRANT and (mostly) HEALTHY recipes. In my culture life goes around food so delicious and wholesome dishes are paramount, no matter whether we’re having an everyday lunch or a meal for that special occasion ALWAYS using fresh ingredients.
I’m not a chef, I grew up cooking next to my grandmother and mom, learning the skills that have let me to now work as a professional cook, but most importantly, I learned how to cook with passion and love, the essential ingredients to every dish.
A BIT ABOUT ME & MY RECIPE BLOG
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela from an Italian mother and a Venezuelan dad. Since the age of 5 I’ve lived in 5 different countries and travelled within the American continent and Europe numerous times.
Travels and life experience that allowed me to absorb the flavours of many cuisines and that now I combine with the Italian and Venezuelan flavours I grew up with at home.
In my previous life I worked in architecture, nowadays I work as a professional cook, food blogger, recipe creator, food photographer, recipe videographer and graphic designer.
And in my recipe blog I want to show you how to make easy, vibrant and delicious recipes from around the world and everyday classics. Recipes with the “wow” factor that are easy to make, inexpensive and sometimes prepared in advance.

GLUTEN FREE AND LACTOSE FREE RECIPES
Almost ten years ago I was diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome) a condition that left me with an accute sensitivity to gluten, intolerance to lactose and several food allergies to ingredients I could perfectly eat before.
This condition affected my life dramatically prohibiting me to eat some of my favourite foods like bread, sea food and lactose, to name a few.
It took me a few years to mentally cope with the condition, the fact that I could not eat these foods really got me down, but now I try to help those suffering with this condition or similar sensitivities by cooking recipes that are gluten free or add an option that would it make it gluten free and dairy free without loosing flavour.
